The world is fast paced, and it’s only getting faster. A new generation of children, surrounded by pings, tweets, alerts and an unforgiving internet has created an educational environment challenging, at the least, and nightmarish at the most. Even those children without direct access to the modern world and its learning distractions are still affected by the current speed of the culture, leading to a rise in ADHD that has spread like the plague, unforgiving and indiscriminate, affecting all schooling systems, secular and orthodox alike.
Old school parenting and teaching styles simply do not work anymore, yet the educators of today are still taught using the selfsame techniques, far outdated and mismatched for the current challenge. It is no wonder the modern teacher often feels so lost and uncertain, finishing each day more bone-tired and turned off than the last. No wonder that parents are left questioning if the pain of child-raising is truly worth the effort, finding themselves asking where it is they went wrong.
They need tools. Tools that exist, but have not been taught. Tools to delve into the recesses of every child’s soul and draw out the creativity, joy, and curiosity latent within. To “Educate a child in his own way”, so that, “…even when he grows older he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs, 22:6)
